Oswego Ranked One Of The Best Small Cities In The Country

Oswego was recently recognized as one of the top small cities in the country according to Wallathub. Wallathub ranked 1268 cities with populations between 25,000-100,000. 33 key indicators of livability were used to assess the cities on everything from housing costs to quality of schools to restaurants per capita. The cities were then grouped by percentiles based on their ranking in 5 categories; affordability, economic health, education and health, quality of life, and safety. 99 percent, the best score a city can receive, represents the top 1% of cities in the study. Oswego was the 17th highest ranking Illinois city, landing in the 90 percentile with a total score of 63.33. Oswego received its best marks for affordability, ranking 49rd nationally, and safety, where it placed 86th.
