St. Charles Ranked One Of The Best Small Cities In The Country
St. Charles was recently recognized as one of the top small cities in the country according to Wallathub. Wallathub ranked 1268 cities with populations between 25,000-100,000. 33 key indicators of livability were used to assess the cities on everything from housing costs to quality of schools to restaurants per capita. The cities were then grouped by percentiles based on their ranking in 5 categories; affordability, economic health, education and health, quality of life, and safety. 99% is the best score a city can receive and represents the top 1% of cities in the study. St. Charles was the 8th highest ranking Illinois city, landing in the 95 percentile with a total score of 64.63. St. Charles received its best marks for education and health, ranking 88 nationally, and affordability, where it placed 133rd.
